Overview of EPFO

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), managed by India's Ministry of Labour and Employment, oversees EPF, insurance, and pension plans for Indian workers. As the world's largest social security body, it assists over 27.74 crore members via 138 offices, ranking it as the biggest active global organization.

The EPF scheme uses a unique 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN), assigned by the EPFO, to integrate employees across different organizations they work for. This constant UAN simplifies accessing EPF benefits and managing EPF tasks with various employers.
